Summer Flowers!
One of my favorite things about summer is being able to go out to my garden and cut pretty flowers like these- I have them all over the house!

Two tone walls and doors!!
I am dying to do some two tone or graphic stuff with color on my walls and doors-
like this door from rainbowwildfox's tumblr page-
...so unbelievably cool. At the very least I might try the eHow tutorial on painting two tone walls!

New House- Before/After
I have been spending the last few months working on my new house! I have been working like crazy, making improvements inside and out (see shiny new mailbox and fancy house numbers above)
It is always interesting to see the different ways that different people decorate the same house... for example, here is a picture of my kitchen 'before'- as in before I moved in-

The previous inhabitants took their furniture, but left me those scary floral curtains! (and the outdated appliances)
Over the past couple months I removed the upper valances and put up some white cafe curtains instead. I also replaced the chandelier with the IKEA BRASA light fixture (a housewarming gift from my sister). The old dining set my boyfriend and I had was too big for the dining nook, so we put some charcoal grey fiberglass shell chairs ($35 total for the three at my local fleamarket) together with the white Saarinen-like DOCKSTA table from IKEA ( an xmas present from my sister and brother!).
So here's the after-
We briefly considered repainting the vintage minty green wall color, but it grew on me, and we decided to keep it! Sunday, July 5, 2009
sean hages loves you!
sean hages loves you! Well, at least that is is the name of his etsy store... Sean makes witty collages and surreal yet functional ceramics that are perfect for decorating your home in style- my favorites right now are his envelope-sized collage, "want to taste my cookies?" and the 'Bombing Run Shot Glasses'! His work is not only unique, but also affordable, with prices hovering around the $5-$20 range for most pieces.
