Insanely excited because I just bought a pair of clearance Ashish + Topshop shades like the ones Twiggy is wearing here! Wonder if they will make me just as cool...

I love modern design, but alas, I am usually too 'financially challenged' to do much more than look longingly at my fancy design magazines. But once and a while I catch a lucky break, like finding this geometric white bowl at Target for about $10, almost identical to a $110 bowl at Design Within Reach... of course my version is melamine and the original is porcelain, buy hey, for only $9.99 who's complaining? Not me!

On the CUSP...

Just checked out CUSP, a new online sister store of Neiman Marcus, aimed at a younger, trendier audience. There are some pretty great things on there, similiar to Urban Outfitters but with a slightly higher price tag. Here are a few highlights-

Still recovering from my trip to Cannes last month- so much fun! Not only did I see lots of films, but I also did a lot of shopping! I finally got a chance to visit Zara, a Spanish-based international retail chain- so awesome! They have some really beautiful clothes for women, men and even kids! I was on a pretty tight budget for the film fest, but I did pick up a great black military style button down shirt for my boyfriend, and a terrific pair of wonderfully girly ruffled tulle sandals with ribbon ties! I can't wait to wear these with floaty floral summer dresses and even jeans!
they also fit into my current tulle obsession! Right now I am designing tons of pretty necklaces for whiteowl featuring floaty tulle and mixed chains!

Fall is coming!

It may be hot right now, but fall is coming! I can't wait to shop for some fall clothes- the new lines at H&M are so cute they have me wishing for crisp cool weather!

I love summer sandals!

Another sweet pair of sandals on my summer wishlist... leave it to UK's Irregular Choice to somehow make ditsy florals seem futuristic.

Cool boots that are kind to the little critters

I am dying to get these fantastic paint splattered boots from Olsen Haus- they are so wonderfully 80's! And they come in electric blue, too. A pair of these babies would look perfect with some black wet-look leggings I suspect. All their shoes are a bit pricey (for a broke person like me), but on the bright side, they're 100% vegan, so you can buy cool shoes and love the little animals too!

Camper Twins!

It's official, I am completely obsessed with Camper Twins. What are they? They are pairs of shoes that, as the website describes it, are 'complimentary but not identical'. Sometimes the two shoes are just variations on the same design- for example, I have a pair of Camper Twin Cameo flats (pictured on my feet above) with a boy silhouette on one shoe and a girl's silhouette on the other, and when you put your feet together the two appear to be leaning towards one another (about to kiss?)- insanely cute! Another pair I found has a red star pattern than overlaps the toes of both shoes . The best pair they currently offer is this pair of brogue style heels with skinny offset laces in tiny eyelets, which each share 1/2 half of a placket!
