Gaultier for Target this weekend!

So, finally the Jean Paul Gaultier for Target comes out this Sunday, March 7th! The pieces are all very eclectic, ranging in style from punk to girly and beyond, so there should be something for everyone! Here is a quick peek at a page or two out of the Gaultier for Target lookbook- (I want to buy the trench for my trip to France!)

while we are on the subject of sweaters anyway...

If, as you pack away your winter sweaters, you find any that are just no good (too big, too small, wrong shape), you can always send them off to ReKnit! Check out their site- it is run by a son and his mom who will unravel your old sweater and re-knit it into something new and useable, like gloves, a hat or scarf. March is already booked (she can only do about 30 orders a month), but she does this year round, so start planning now what you want re-purposed for fall! Every month is a specific item (gloves, hat etc) and visitors to the site get to vote on what the next reknit item should be!

end of winter ball-y sweaters!

March is here at last! Spring is right around the corner...but if you live in a place like Michigan, winter last a really long time! And near the end of the season, your sweaters (which might've been pristine and new in the fall or at Xmas) may look, well, a bit mangy. Those little annoying pills! My favorite Topshop sweater has a nasty case of pilling already, and I just bought it in December! Or worse yet, the wool sweaters may end up moth eaten before next year! So before you put your sweaters away ( or mix them in with your awesome new early spring pieces) here are a few things you may want to pick up to keep those sweaters looking fancy and new-

Whitmore fabric shaver , $14.99, Target (online only)- no more ball-y sweaters!

Cedar "moth balls", $3.99 each, The Container Store- an safe, pleasant smelling natural alternative to traditional moth balls (which smell bad and are poisonous!), that will keep the moths from snacking on your wool sweaters without that mothball stink!
