High/Low

I love modern design, but alas, I am usually too 'financially challenged' to do much more than look longingly at my fancy design magazines. But once and a while I catch a lucky break, like finding this geometric white bowl at Target for about $10, almost identical to a $110 bowl at Design Within Reach... of course my version is melamine and the original is porcelain, buy hey, for only $9.99 who's complaining? Not me!

cafe do brasil (what to do with burlap coffee bags)

So recently I bought a burlap coffee bag for a dollar... the graphic design on the front is really cool, and I have been trying to figure out what I should do with it/where it should go- should it be a wall hanging? A rug? I found a few cool ideas for using these bags in home decor (including a lot of cool pieces with coffee sacks as upholstery)-

 

Two tone walls and doors!!

I am dying to do some two tone or graphic stuff with color on my walls and doors- like this door from rainbowwildfox's tumblr page-

...so unbelievably cool. At the very least I might try the eHow tutorial on  painting two tone walls!
